I recently had the pleasure of dining at Morena's, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. First and foremost, the restaurant is impeccably clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The service was outstanding—attentive and friendly from start to finish. It’s clear that the staff takes pride in ensuring every guest has a great experience. The food and drinks were a true highlight. The cucumber-jalapeno margaritas, made with fresh lime juice and agave, were absolutely divine—crafted to perfection with just the right balance of flavors. The mole poblano sauce was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the tender chicken breast. The carnitas are really flavorful and crispy just how I like them. The red tamale was another standout. The masa was just right—not too dry—and generously filled with flavorful meat. The chips arrived at the table fresh, hot, and perfectly crispy, accompanied by a roasted red salsa that was simply delicious. Even the sides of beans and rice were outstanding, making every bite of the meal a delight. Overall, Morena’s exceeded my expectations in every way. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious, authentic cuisine with excellent service.
I used to come here ALL the time growing up when it was Mimi's. Anyway, now it's Morena's and it's good! I came here today for lunch with a group of former coworkers, there were 5 of us in total. The service was great and the food was pretty good too! I got a cheese quesadilla and the server was nice enough to hook me up with a side of sour cream even though it didn't come with it. I got a meal to take home to my husband, so for 6 meals and a soda - our total was only 115! Not bad at all, all things considered. (I do wish I could get a bran muffin from Mimi's here still though)
My husband and I ate here last night. GREAT Service, they were friendly and upbeat. The food came in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. I recommend this restaurant and is family friendly.
Great food and service! From the chips, salsa AND a glass of water (without needing to ask for one!) you get when they sit you at your table. The food, the host and the servers were amazing. Went during my lunch break and my plate came out within 10 minutes from ordering. The chile relleno, rice and beans were authentic and delicious. Went back for Taco Tuesday 3 tacos for 12 very happy with the service and flavor!
Our waiter was very nice. Our food was served hot and it was delicious. And the price is right. Environment is very clean and cozy
Had a nice meal this evening on my way back home at Morena's in Lake Forest. I started with chips and salsa and Francisco was my server. He was kind, professional and recommended the specials. I had the Carne asada and chile relleno and it was excellent. I also had a few Cadillac margaritas that were delicious. Great place, good food and great staff. Highly recommended
Sensational. My first time at this location and assuredly my new favorite restaurant. Everything was exceptional: hostess, service, ambience, food ...! To date, the best queso fundido discovery and I’ve had many! The lunch portion of chicken fajitas was still so delicious and plentiful I had leftovers. Their Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc also yummy. In particular, Elvis was a terrific server and Karen, was the most invested Hostess I’ve ever encountered. She’s a keeper! Overall, ten stars for a solid, delicious, enjoyable Mexican dinner experience!
We tried Morena's out today for lunch and it was really great all the way around! First off, it's really clean and airy. Real nice atmosphere. We were greeted right away and taken care of by their very friendly staff. Our food came fast, hot and as described! My husband got the Chili Verde and I got the Chicken Wet Burrito. We look forward to coming back and trying breakfast here too! P.s. their chips are really good!
